fireplaces

DSCF0002 I made a big batch of gray glaze to do the fireplaces and all the trim, so I wouldn't run out.

Then I glazed the fireplaces, thought it looked yucky (top picture), so painted over the glaze with white paint (bottom picture)...a little of the gray shows through still, which looks pretty cool.

After all that messing around I bought some satin varnish to use on the fireplaces and the trim...I'm not going to try glazing the trim.

I got a catalog in the mail from miniatures.com...I told Matthew he's lucky I'm working in 1:24 scale instead of 1:12 scale because there's so much really cool stuff in 1:12 scale.  I gave the catalog to Bessie...it was too heartbreaking to have it here...I want this and can't have it, this and can't have it, this and can't have it, etc...

I'm going to agree. The fireplaces on bottom are much better! Nice work!

Susan

The fireplace color is a good one! I liked them the first time around just as much, though.

And "heartbreaking" is right...I want one of those sinks SO badly, only in 1:1 size, and in my bathroom or kitchen!!!

Susan

LOL - I just saw the Etsy favorite names on the side over there - our Naomi would so be loving that hat and scarf, and the "Susan" description of "simply gorgeous" and "stunning" is dead-on!
;-)

Keli

LOL...did you see the 'Keli' description?

"Simple and short. No fuss. No hassle. Just sweet."

Susan

You sure aren't simple in any way, though you're shorter than me, so I'll go along with the short...
But "just" sweet?? Well, stunning was a bit of a stretch for Susan, too! You have a tiny bit of sour in that sweet, which is my favorite part!
