my new tool

When I looked for miniature table saws and saw how expensive a good one was I thought that I might as well buy a full sized saw that my husband could use too. We don't have a lot of space, so I sent Matthew shopping for either a jobsite or a small table saw...he came home to tell me he just doesn't have room in the garage for either one. That's actually good news, because a miniature table saw is going to be more functional for me...I can't cut moulding and other little fiddly pieces, or cut as precisely, on a regular table saw.
I was going to buy this one, but then I googled "what is the best miniature table saw", and read on both model train and model ship building forums that the same question is asked two or three times a year and the consensus always is that if you're going to spend that kind of money it's well worth it in the long run to spend an extra hundred or so to buy the best saw, which is sound advice that fits my purchasing philosophy...so I did.
While I'm waiting for it to get here I'm building a foam core mock-up...which is making me feel a lot better about my project than I was on the weekend, when I couldn't do anything right.
Droooooooooooolllllll!!!
Your project is starting off well here - testing the limits of my tedium tolerance, but it helps that it's going well!

I've been on the prowl for a cutting power tool - after much thought, I will likely go with the Dremel Trio since it will do the most for my purposes in the long run. I'll be interested to read your review of your new saw...looks like a beauty! :D

Oh I am so curious what you're doing...

Melinda, I'll email you a picture of the mock up when I've got it done. Feel free to tease Susan ;)
Brae, I'm giving the Dremel Trio some thought...it won't work for this project, but I think the next one will require a plunge saw.
