mini chaise sofa and wee little chipmunk

My new sofa, sitting on my big sofa, in front of one of the microsuede throw pillows that started my color scheme. (I used to have two of those throw pillows, one became the sofa.) The cat throw pillows were made by Brae. The small boom box is my husband's. I bought it for him (it's really an iPod speaker) because he collects boomboxes, thinking he'd say "awww, it's cute", then hand it back to me after a few days. He won't let me have it. Now I have to buy myself one.
The sofa's not perfect, but when I get something made of fabric to a 'good enough' state I'm thrilled. Fabric and I don't tend to get along. I constructed the sofa based on a tutorial written by Pepper. Part one, building, is here....part two, upholstering, is here.
I ended up making it a bit deeper than I planned on, but it would have looked funny with my original measurements. I definitely don't have space for a coffee table in this room.
We had a wee little chipmunk visit us yesterday. He's old enough to have left the burrow, but too young to be scared of people yet....definitely from this year's litter. He was sleeping on the warm pavers behind the garage.
Stretch! Awww.....so cute.....
Hi there, little guy....
Would you like some sunflower seeds?
Look at those big feet! Just like a puppy...he'll grow into them.
We must have sat there for an hour while he stuffed his cheeks full, before he staggered away, off balance. So sweet. He'd look cute relaxing on my sofa, no?
So cute!! I love chipmunks! :D
The sofa turned out great, if you ask me. Well done!

Hi Keli! All I have around here are squirrels, Squirrels and More SQUIRRELS! I wish I had a chipmunk for a change :/
Meanwhile, your sofa is a Smashing success! The color is beautiful and it ties in so well with the lacquered cabinetry as well as the graphic design that you've chosen for the headboard upstairs. Such a great choice which goes with everything; ie. the lime green in the wall graphic and the purple or your chair- very smart! The graphic cat cushions are looking good on your sofa too! :D

If the sofa isn't perfect I can't tell why. Nice job! I like the boombox, too. The baby chippy is cute too, but does Esther know?

I think your sofa is perfect!
Looks very comfy!
Elaine took the words right out of my mouth - is Ester a chipmunk hunter?
They don't last very long here, and I usually only see half of the at a time, but they can be really destructive around a house so I am fine with Frank dispatching them.
He is adorable there stretching in the sun - little cutie!

Wow, so cute! How lovely to have them in or near your garden! Love the sofa, I think you've done a great job. Fills that corner nicely.

Oh my! I have yet to try and build furniture... you're very inspiring. Also intimidating if that's a first time effort. Wow.
Love the color also. So pretty.
I don't see anything but squirrels and birds near our house. Squirrels who raid the birdfeeder.

It's the first time I built a sofa from scratch, but I've reupholstered plenty, that's the hard part.
Ester is a hunter, she brought me a baby bunny in the spring and gifts me with mice and shrews every couple of weeks. I haven't seen her catch a chipmunk yet, they're awfully fast and have all kinds of hidey holes. Hopefully Little Chip (Husband named him) will either go unnoticed or escape her.
We have lots of squirrels here too. Gray ones, brown ones, red ones, black ones....they're everywhere. They jump out of the maple tree by the kitchen, scamper across the roof, then jump into the pine trees next to the window I'm sitting in front of now. It's continuous background noise when I'm working in my studio...squirrels galloping over my head, accompanied by the thump of acorns falling out of the oak tress. Autumn is especially harmonious.
