Agreed! The black ties the top floor in with the hottom floor and the white bedsides break up the timber and add detail. I think the less-wood-at-bottom is less obvious now as the black and colours in headboard tie it all together without being too prosaic. And I don't think stubby legs will be particularly noticeable. Get a thick shag pile rug in front!

I was thinking of a flokati rug in the seating area downstairs....haven't decided yet.

Oooooo....ahhhhhh. I love the bed and bookcase combo. I also could totally see a white shag rug under the desk. It would feel so nice under your toes as you work at the desk.

A rug under the desk? I would never have thought of that.
I'm short....so short my feet don't reach the floor when I'm sitting in a desk chair. I sit cross-legged all day, my feet tucked up in the chair under me.

Oh that looks great. It totally pops now and doesn't look so cluttered with all the wood. Love it!

And I just noticed the desk color echoes the chairs of the dining room so you've got some nice kitty corner reflection going on there.
I'm jealous. I stained windows yesterday and worked on a light fixture.

Thanks!
I haven't been brave enough to try stained windows yet. Then again, I haven't had a build that insisted on having them yet. I'm sure my turn is coming eventually.

Wow - it looks really good!
The black desk really balances it out, from bottom left corner to top right, and makes all of the wood and other tones pop out.
Very nice!!

You're right, that's much better. Nicely done!
